does the guardian have to be legally specified as such?
I am planning on attending the Burning Man gathering in Nevada next year with a group of people. To go to the event you must be 18 or older, OR accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 21.
I will be under 18 at the time of the event, however at least one member of the group will be over 21 at the time. I have full permission from my parents to attend the event.
My question is, do I need a legal document stating that one of the members who is over 21 is going to be my acting guardian and I can attend the event with them, or can I just say that they are my guardian?

I am considering bringing my beach cruiser to Burning man this year. I have been getting conflicting stories on whether or not this is a good idea. Some people say to bring a junker because the playa will cause corrosion. Some people say to just get your bike tuned up when you get back if it’s a nice one. I want to bring my cruiser because I know it’s super comfortable and a sweet ride. I’m afraid with all the biking I’m going to do, if I buy a junker, it’ll bruise my bum! Thoughts? Opinions? Experience?

I see you’re asking about regional contacts; that’s a good step. Find out if there are events/groups involved with Burning Man locally that you could connect with.
It is getting kind of late to join a theme camp. I’m sure there are still plenty out there that are willing to have people join, but some may already have all the participants they can handle. You should work on this soon, as it will get harder to find a camp you can join the closer Burning Man gets.

Browse the list, and if you see a camp you’re interested in, check their website and see if they are accepting new people.
